Books That Give Me FOMO

There are sooooo many books on Bookstagram and Booktube right now that are floating around and EVERYONE is reading them. As if it’s the end of the world and we’re in a giant bookclub.

Read or die, bitches!

Anyway, eventually, I’ll probably read them and get with the program. But until then, being not TBR makes me cranky and gives me major FOMO. Please tell me if you’ve read these or if you also have major “out of the inner circle” vibes.

ACOTAR

I’m hoping to pick up the first in this series within the next few weeks, I’ve heard both raves and rants of badness. We shall see under which heading I fall…

Riley Sager

Big Little Lies

I tried to read this one awhile ago, because of the show, but something with the voice didn’t vibe with me. I’ll have to try it again.

The Inheritance Games

I cannot wait to read this damn book. Cannot. Wait. Can. Not.

Truly Devious

I’ve actually read this one by the time I’m posting this blog! Yay me! I also plan to read the whole series. Double yay me!

Crave

I’m actually reading this one right now. And, um, yeah…you’ll hear my thoughts soon.

Angsty vampire. Naïve Girl. Boarding School. Hijinks. Twilight Vibes. Yup, I’m here for it.

Carmilla

You had me at lesbian vampires. The end.

They Wish They Were Us

I’m in such a rich bitches, mean girl mystery vibe that this seems absolutely perfect for my genre mood after reading her second book, first. Because I’m weird.

The Midnight Library

Apparently this one has a lot of repetitive narration? But is super deep or something? I don’t know. I’m just a misfit who’s easily swayed into growing her TBR pile. Don’t look at me.

Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke

Written in text messages and message boards posts. BDSM and horror. Why yes, where the fuck do I sign up, please? Also, this is short, like novella length short. I’m giddy, guys. Giddy.

Murder on the Orient Express

An oldie, but a goodie. I read And Then There Were None in middle school, but haven’t read a Christie since then…so it’s time. Cue impressive LOTR music or something.

Sawkill Girls

I honestly don’t know what this is about at all. I like the cover? Does that count?

Keep Reading Book Fam,

IBCK

  1. I definitely encourage you to try “Big Little Lies” again – the show did a great job at recreating the story but I think the book is better… It could be because you watched the show first? Thanks for sharing these recommendations and I look forward to checking out “They Wish They Were Us.” All of your descriptions made me laugh out loud – happy I found your blog. I just finished a suspenseful mystery novel by Marlene Bell called “Scattered Legacy”. The protagonists, Annalisse and Alec’, have “the perfect life” as a sexy globetrotting couple, but, little do they know they are about to become involved in a much darker story. This is a “vacation gone wrong” crime fiction that really delivers on all fronts. What happens when you come across not one, but two, homicides on your romantic getaway to Italy? And what if you find out that they may be tied to your family? This was a bingeable read for sure AND good news, it’s a series. You’re welcome. If you get a chance definitely check it out and I would love to know what you think! Happy reading

    • Oh, I am SOOOOO going to check that out. That sounds right up my alley and I’ll try Big Little Lies again, maybe I’ll do a BookTube video about it? Hmmm…inspiring! Thank you SO much for loving my blog. I love writing it and talking into the void has been quite the experience. It’s good to know I’m not alone in my crazy little bookish bubble of doom! It’s so lovely to meet you, Bianca!
